Principal's Message
Welcome to Mount Gilead High School, an "Excellent School" as rated by the State Board of Education. The district motto, "Journey to Excellence" is very evident at M.G.H.S. Our caring faculty and staff strive daily to engage learners and help prepare our students for their next steps into the community. Data shows that Mount Gilead High School students are achieving at levels higher than the average on state and national assessments.

We are excited about the 2012 - 2013 school year and the many academic, extracurricular, and cocurricular opportunities for students to excel at MGHS. These include classroom activities, performing arts, clubs and organizations, and athletics. I  would like to encourage our parents to be actively involved in our schools, as well. We have both Music Boosters and Athletic Boosters, who are always in need of parent input. We also have numerous opportunities to view students in action. Open House, music performances, athletic contests, art shows and other events are great times to meet with staff and view student work. We value your presence in our schools.

A high school education is imperative in today's society. It is an important step in preparing our youth for the future. I wish you good luck with the new school year as I am looking forward to a positive year for all at M.G.H.S. Feel free to stop in to see me and to share with me your views and needs. I look forward to working together with you to continue our Journey to Excellence.
